Glenna Pearl Brewner

Glenna Pearl Brewner, 99, of Du Quoin died at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 200 at Fairview Nursing Center in Du Quoin.
Mrs. Brewner was born September 4, 1900 in Du Quoin, the daughter of Roy Henry and Pearl (Yancey) Thorpe. She married James Norman Brewner on September 16, 1916 in Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1983.
Mrs. Brewner was a retail sales clerk. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American War Mothers, Daughters of the American Legion, Catholic Daughters, and American Legion Auxiliary. She also sang and entertained at area veterans facilities during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, William Brewner and Robert Brewner, both of Du Quoin; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son George Brewner, three brothers and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park. 
Friends were able to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at Neal-McClure Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to masses.
